Experimenting with hand dyed silk organza, ribbon, beads and stamps of African symbols during a creative play date in the studio resulted in this thread painting.
Alan’s Blues was inspired by a colleague who lives in New York. His favorite color is blue since my color palette is traditionally red, yellow and orange it was a creative challenge to work with this cooler palette.

“If you get out of the way, the art will make itself” Sometimes the creative process can be difficult. Calming down and releasing negative energy allows you to become one with the materials. Once that happens, the composition and movement begins to flow out from the darkness of chaos.
