The concept for this site specific installation comes from the saying “that everyone has someone or spirit guardian watching over them.” The windows and a single French door were attached to 2 x 4 and planted in the ground at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. The chipped painted old window’s front symbolizes the group.  Each old window resembles a different family member. While the single French door is off to the side away from the group.  Could this door be the spirit guardian that watches over us?  So take a moment and walk around in this beautiful landscape setting and experience the spirit guardians who  are watching over us.The Master Artist for this residency was Tadashi Kawamata, a Japanese sculptor and installation. During this exchange residency, there were a total of six Japanese and six American artists. Throughout the three weeks, we worked together in the various studios; shared our work; exchanged creative concepts and exhibited our works for the community.
